JPEG file comment | FERENCZY Károly
(1862, Bécs - 1917, Budapest) Kõdobálók 1890 Olaj, vászon, 119 x 149 cm Magyar Nemzeti Galéria, Budapest A nagybányai új festõi irány következetes kimunkálója, Ferenczy Károly korai, szentendrei korszakának egyik fõmûve az 1890-ben készült Kavicsot hajigáló fiúk. Ferenczy ekkor már megjárta Párizst, és a Duna-parti városkában letelepedve próbálta szintézisbe hozni kinti tapasztalatait saját természetlátásával. A jól megfigyelt mozdulatú fiúk alakja monumentálisan rajzolódik a borongós, kopár táj elé. Megfogalmazásuk távol áll mindenféle elbeszélõ jellegtõl. Bár a gesztusok különbözõ mozgásfázisokat jeleznek, Ferenczy inkább a figurák állapotszerûségét hangsúlyozza. Nincs egyetlen élénkebb színfolt sem: a gyöngyházas szürkék legkülönfélébb árnyalatai uralkodnak a finoman felsejlõ, tompa színeken. FERENCZY, Károly (1862, Vienna - 1917, Budapest) Boys Throwing Pebbles into the River 1890 Oil on canvas, 119 x 149 cm Hungarian National Gallery, Budapest Boys Throwing Pebbles into the River, painted in 1890, was one of the major works born during the time that Károly Ferenczy spent in the town of Szentendre. By that time Ferenczy had already been to Paris, and after having settled in the small town near the River Danube, he tried synthesize the experiences he gained in the French capital with his own way of perceiving nature. The figures of the boys are monumentally set against the melancholy, barren landscape. Their movements are well observed, the rendering is far removed from any kind of narrative character. Although the gestures show different phases of motion, Ferenczy emphasizes the eternal character of the figures. With not a single bright colour patch to be found, the various shades of pearly grays dominate the finely wrought, dull colours. Ferenczy later joined the artists' colony at Nagybánya, where he developed a new style of painting. Type: other Time-line: 1901-1925 Form: painting |
