German Translation: “Erinnerungen von Zeitzeugen historischer Ereignisse sind wertvolle Dokumente für die Forschung. Das talentiert geschriebene Buch zieht jedoch auch die Aufmerksamkeit anderer Leser auf sich. Dieser Bericht über die furchtbaren Jahre, zugebracht hinter den Mauern der Lubjanka und in den Konzentrationslagern von Workuta, sowie die Erzählungen von Alexander Solschenizyn und anderer Häftlinge des GULAG haben auch in unserer Zeit nichts von ihrer Bedeutung verloren.”
