Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, Florida

Did you know, before it became the Outstanding Natural Area (ONA), parts of the ONA were designated, and still are, as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC)?

An ACEC is a special management area designated by BLM to protect significant historic, cultural, or scenic values; fish and wildlife resources; and/or natural process or systems. The decision to designate the Jupiter Inlet Natural Area as it was then known, was made in the Florida Resource Management Plan in 1995.
