[edit]DescriptionJuncus vaginatus flower cluster NT 1 (34729102406).jpg | Native, perennial, shortly to strongly rhizomatous, herbaceous rush. Stems are 30-100 cm tall, 1.5–4.5 mm diam., ± soft and yellow-green, with 30–65 striations and continuous pith. Cataphylls are abaxially pale yellow to dark yellow-brown and adaxially silvery. Flowerheads are pseudo-lateral, diffuse and usually 7–17 cm long. Flowers are numerous and, densely clustered. Tepals are straw-brown, often tinged red-brown and shorter than to longer than the golden brown capsule. Flowers in spring and summer. Grows in damp to wet situations in the eastern half of the NSW. |
