Summary
[edit]DescriptionJunction of footpaths south-east of Tatenhill, Staffordshire - geograph.org.uk - 207075.jpg |
English: Junction of footpaths south-east of Tatenhill, Staffordshire. The image was taken looking SSE along the bridleway that links the village of Tatenhill with Tatenhill Lock. The footpath that crosses it, heads ENE to Branston Bridge and WNW to Dunstall. The field beyond the path junction appeared to be set-a-side and had recently been mown. Much of the land around this area has experienced sand and gravel extraction since and even before the Second World War. However, there are no longer any working pits in the immediate vicinity and consequently, the land has either been reclaimed or remains as flooded pits, much to the delight of wildlife and local anglers. |
