Summary
[edit]DescriptionJunction of Three Shires Oak Road and Thimblemill Lane - geograph.org.uk - 687228.jpg |
English: Junction of Three Shires Oak Road & Thimblemill Lane The blue plaque on the shop states that this is the site of an ancient oak tree that marked the spot where the three counties of Staffordshire, Warwickshire & Worcestershire met. The tree itself was uprooted in about 1900. To the right was Warwickshire, the left Staffordshire & I'm standing in Worcestershire. The whole location is now part of the West Midlands County which is not a county at all but merely a postal address. |
