Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Junction of Spencer Street and High Street.Junction of Spencer Street and High Street 469 High Street, in 2011 this building was scheduled for redevelopment with planning permission for a three storey extension to provide for 11 apartments. The sales particulars suggest the front is listed but I'm unable to find any details but it is in a Conservation Area. It contained winches and other machinery that was removed in 2007. A lock-up shop was proposed by J Weighell, architect W Mortimer in 1890 in this location, but the design was much simpler than the resulting building and was not followed. James Weighell & Sons were hay and corn dealers and carried on business from numbers 469 and 470 from about 1890 to at least 1935. From around 1961 to the 1990s Robert Pearson and co. (Lincoln) Ltd., belting and transmission engineers (with 470) occupied the premises. Companies House list Robert Pearson and co. (Lincoln) Ltd. as a dormant Company incorporated in Feb. 1954.
