English: Photo of Nazi activists in Berlin on Saturday, April 1, 1933, demonstrating and protesting during the nationwide anti-Semitic boycott and propaganda campaign targeting Jewish businesses and shops in Germany. The image shows four chanting or singing Nazi pickets, two of them in paramilitary 'brownshirt' uniforms as members of the Nazi Party (NSDAP) and its SA (Sturmabteilung), blocking the entrance to a store on Königstraße belonging to the allegedly Jewish-owned F. W. Woolworth chain.
The boycott began on April 1, 1933, as a claimed reaction to the international anti-Nazi boycott. Though largely unsuccessful, it aimed to undermine Jewish businesses and marked the start of escalating Nazi actions against Jews, including harassment, arrests, forced transfers of ownership, and ultimately, murder in the Holocaust.
