Español: Retrato de la princesa Juana de Austria (1535-1573), que fue hija del emperador Carlos I de España y hermana del rey Felipe II. Se casó con el príncipe Juan de Portugal por poderes el 11 de enero de 1552. Este retrato es una de las distintas versiones de la misma composición: se cree que todas las versiones son de retratos producidos por Antonio Moro van Dashorst para conmemorar el matrimonio de la retratada. Las hebillas del cinturón llevan el emblema de columna favorito de los Habsburgo, tal vez en alusión al lema y recurso de Carlos V, Non Plus Ultra. Juan, como primo de Juana, era también un Habsburgo; la inclusión de este emblema, por tanto, hacía hincapié en el vinculo familiar de la pareja durante el periodo de ausencia entre su matrimonio en el año 1552 y la llegada de Juana a Portugal en enero del 1554. A lo largo de este periodo se intercambiaron retratos. Poco después de la llegada de Juana a Portugal, el príncipe Juan, de dieciséis años de edad, murió de una enfermedad crónica. Después de dar a luz a su hijo, Sebastián (1554-1578), Juan regreso a España. Aquí, hasta el año 1559, reinó como regente en ausencia de su hermano, el príncipe consorte inglés, Felipe II (1527-1598), y en 1557 fundó el monasterio de las Descalzas Reales de Madrid.
