Description
Deutsch: Junkers Ju 52, Fallschirmschule in Wittstock/Dosse, Flugplatz Alt Daber, ca. 1939-40. Die Ju 52, Spitzname "Tante Ju", war während des 2. Weltkrieges auf nahezu allen Flugplätzen in Europa (und Nordafrika) anzutreffen, die von der dt. Luftwaffe angeflogen und genutzt wurden. Ihre Hauptaufgabe war der Personal- und Materialtransport, sowie v. a. zu Kriegsbeginn der Transport und das Absetzen von Fallschirmjägern bei (meist verlustreichen) Luftlandeoperationen, u. a. auf Kreta vom 20. Mai bis 1. Juni 1941. Ausserdem war die Junkers Ju 52 als Verbindungsflugzeug im Einsatz, sowie in großer Zahl in den Blindflug-, Bordfunker- und Flugzeugführerschulen. Die abgebildeten Ju 52 der Fallschirmschule Wittstock waren mit einem auf der Führerkanzel rechtsseitig montierten, offenen MG- und Beobachterstand bestückt.
