on of the cord, whichwas composed of amnion with an innerlining of parietal peritoneum, it was foundto contain all the movable viscera of theabdomen, namely, the stomach, small in-testine, large intestine down to the begin-ning of sigmoid, great omentum, liver andspleen. Communication with the abdomi-nal cavity was established by a tight, roundopening admitting the tip of the index fin-ger ( see thumb forceps ). The fixed ab-dominal viscera remained in the abdomen,that is the adrenals, kidneys, bladder andinternal genital organs. The liver presented a large single cystin the left lobe, and microsv-onicallv showedgroups of aberrant bile ducts. Both kid-neys presented congenital cysts. 1 regard the above case as a malforma-tion, due to defective union of the ventralsomatopleuric folds (membrana reuniens Society of New Jersey. The patient was a male infant, four monthsold, seen in consultation on February 17.
