beyond a trunk of in-creased density. Then it will have the triangular shape ofthe fan, but the sticks will not be in evidence. With largelesions, it is often impossible to make out the individualtriangles. With brown induration the density is usually more dif-fuse, and the trunk of the lingual tip is abnormally promi-nent and zig-zag. Simple catarrhal conditions such as grippe and bronchitisproduce no abnormal densities unless the exudate extendsinto the air sacs. Syphilis of the lung gives no recognizable x-ray picture,except the stellate scars of old tertiary lesions. Pleural effusion, emphysema and hydro-pneumothoraxare the same in the fluoroscopic picture and the localizationof foreign bodies in the lung is similar to such procedurefor other parts of the body. By histological examination, he proved that calcificationcauses the greatest density of all pulmonary lesions, case-ation following second, with fibrosis a close third. Cellularexudates are more dense than serous. C. G. F.

In spite of the existing conditions just preceding themeeting, the Society enjoyed the most instructive meetingand was favored with the largest attendance since theorganization was founded.
