nds. Fonr yearsago she noticed a lump in the right breast. July, 1915, sheconsulted a doctor who found trouble in both breasts. In1915 she visited the Mayo Clinic when they found cancer ofthe uterus, liver and both breasts. She was referred forroentgen therapy, coining December 13. 1915. Technique—105 kilo-volts, 6 millimeters of aluminum andsole leather, 8 inch anode skin distance. A total of 1050milliampere minutes divided into fourteen series. Results: She has had eighty-seven treatments, compris-ing fourteen series, covering the entire torso from the chinto the pubes—front, back and both sides. When she cameshe was bedfast and unable to eat or sleep because of thepain. Her pain disappeared, the uterine hemorrhageceased, she gained weight, was able to sleep and eat any-thing she liked. She has been doing her own housework formore than four years. Both breasts are soft and the liveris barely palpable, while the uterus is freely movable andnormal size. 24 THE JOURNAL OF RADIOLOGY
