To the right and above is analveolar collection of Langhans cells surrounded partly by syncy-tium, which is also found In the center of the alveolus, partly by afibrous septum. Lower down the syncytium contains Isolated Lang-hans cells, giant nuclei and vacuoles, within which are a few redblood cells.

areas seen in the mediastinal growth, but they were of firmerconsistence and less necrotic. Tlie portions of the liver preserved were of uniform brown-ish color, and grossly showed no changes. Glissons capsuleappeared thickened. The nodules were similar in size, colorand shape to those found in the lung, except in one spot wherea larger and more diffuse area was found. This was leassharply demarcated from the surrounding liver tissue andshowed advanced areas of necrosis centrally. In close prox-imity to this region were two nodules, one of pea size, theother nearly as large as a cherry, of totally different nature.Irregularly spherical but traversed by fibrous bands, thesetumors were white in color and softer in consistency, showingon section a tendency to project above the surrounding liver.Here there were neither hemorrhages nor necrosis. Microscopic Examination.—With the exception of the twosmall liver nodules just mentioned the eight nodules of liverand lung were exaetlj similar
