  • Boek (niet bedoeld voor kinderen) met humoristische zwart-wit steendrukken naast pagina's tekst over de door volwassenen veroorzaakte ellende in het kinderleven, met onder de teksten dichtregels van Van Alphen, Beets en Da Costa met een verheerlijking van de kindertijd. Er zijn afbeeldingen van een baker met baby, een min die het kind vergeet, straatscènes met wangknijpende oude heren en mal uitgedoste kinderen, ouders die hun kinderen met elkaar vergelijken, te nette of te kleine kleding, een strenge kostschool, ziekte en de vreselijke remedies, onbeantwoorde verliefdheid en puberteit. Op de voorkant een afbeelding van twee lezende kinderen en op de achterzijde een kind met boek in een kinderstoel.
