English: Members of Joint Task Force-Bravo participate in a 100 meter swim while in uniform during testing for the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, Jan. 14, 2014. Several members of Joint Task Force-Bravo are attempting to qualify for the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge this week. In order to qualify for the badge, service members must pass both a fitness test and a military training test, administered by a German Sergeant Major. Today, JTF-Bravo members completed an 11x10 meter spring test, a chin-up (flexed arm hang) test, a 1,000 meter run and a 100 meter swim in uniform. The German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (German: Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst) is a decoration of the Bundeswehr, the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany. The decoration can be awarded to all German Soldiers. Allied Soldiers may also be awarded the badge. Any rank may be awarded and wear the badge. In the United States Military the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge is one of the few approved foreign awards, and it is one of the most sought after awards to achieve.
