J.P Roberts was a relative of Bert who immigrated to Australia from England. He served as a lieutenant in Queensland’s 9th Battalion. John Powe Roberts died in action on the first day at Gallipoli, 25 April 1915, leaving a widow and small son. Queensland Museum holds over 1000 of Bert Roberts' plate glass negatives and prints from the era. |
