Description
English: The Pirson House stands at 2250 Military Road, in the Town of Tonawanda not far from the border with the City of Tonawanda. Of Alsatian extraction, John (Johannes) Pirson came to Tonawanda as a young man, later marrying the former Eva Knoche. He built this house in 1848 and lived there until his death in 1881; his family continued to own it through the 1920s. It's now a storage facility for the University of Toronto Press, whose Western New York operations are headquartered in the warehouses seen at far right in this photo.
