Description |
John Josiah Staley was born the first child of Daniel L. and Catherine Staley in North Carolina in 1849. He purchased homestead property in 1878 in the Staley area south of Pullman with his brothers and father. There is biography of his life in the Encyclopedia of Northwest Biography, pages 232-233. He was an outstanding citizen of Pullman. He worked at various occupations, ranging from school teacher to businessman. He joined his brother Daniel Fletcher Staley to found the Pullman State Bank, serving as it's first president. Names: Staley, John Josiah, 1849-1940 |
