He was a solicitor, and a partner in the Low Moor ironworks, Bradford, West Yorkshire, having inherited his share from his father John Hardy (1744-1806). His wife was Elizabeth Gathorne, and he was father of Sir John Hardy, Charles Hardy, Gathorne Gathorne-Hardy who became Lord Cranbrook, and nine daughters. | |||||
