Description
English: John F. McInnes was one of the nineteen men elected to represent the Boston police officers who voted to form a union and affiliate with the American Federation of Labor (AFL) to address working conditions and pay issues in the Boston Police department leading up to the 1919 Boston Police Strike. As a result of his unionizing activities, McInnes and more than 1,100 other police officers were fired from their jobs and forced to find other employment.
