Description A sign on the John Deere Historic Site grounds pointing to several locations, on and off site. Some include: restrooms, the pavilion (archaeological site), the blacksmith shop, and the gift shop (all on site). Off site the sign points out two important locations in the history of John Deere the man and company. Rutland, Vermont is John Deere's birthplace and Moline, Il is the location that Deere moved his successful company from Grand Detour, Illinois. (John Deere House & Shop) - Grand Detour, Illinois, United States. U.S. National Register of Historic Places, U.S. National Historic Landmark.
