Nederlands: Johannes Jensius (1671-1755) Nederlands letterkundige, geboren te Den Haag in 1671, overleden te Den Haag op 14 maart 1755. Studeerde aan de universiteit in Leiden en ontving van die universiteit een gouden medaille voor de voordracht van een Latijns gedicht over de omwenteling in Engeland. Hij was prorector van de Latijnse school te Den Haag (1697), Rector van de Illustere School in Dordrecht (1700) en hoogleraar en rector van de Erasmiaanse School in Rotterdam (1719)
English: Johannes Jensius (1671-1755) Dutch linguist, born in The Hague in 1671, died in The Hague on 14 March 1755. Studied at Leiden University and received a gold medal from that university for reciting a Latin poem about the revolution in England. He was pro-rector of the Latin school in The Hague (1697), Rector of the illustrious school in Dordrecht (1700) and professor and rector of the Erasmian School in Rotterdam (1719)
