English: Volcanic tuff & volcaniclastic sedimentary rocks in the Tertiary of Utah, USA.
The gray rocks at bottom are part of the Joe Lott Tuff, an explosive volcanic unit deposited about 19 million years ago, during the Early Miocene. The ~brownish rocks at top are part of the Sevier River Formation, a younger Miocene, semilithified, fluvial sedimentary unit consisting of coarse-grained to fine-grained sediments of volcanic origin. Lithologies in the area range from conglomerate to sandstone to siltstone. Stratigraphy of foreground: Joe Lott Tuff, Mt.
