Several happy little young-sters in a state of nature—one jamming a broad-\ brimmed straw hat over his head—are scampering Q U down the sands and into the shallows of spent waves, ^ ) on their way to the real surf which splashes white be- yond them. Behind them come two little girls in pinkone-piece garments, and out in the surf other bathersare seen in suits of different colors. Outside the break-ers boats are sailing in a fresh breeze. The scene isbathed in sunshine, and the play of light and reflec-tions on sand and water and glistening flesh yield colorand atmosphere of variety and charm, with the paintersinterest centered in the lithe, active, nude bodies of thechildren. > Signed at the lower right, J.
