Notes on abbreviations and OCR errors

[edit]

Bo Johansson from Facebook writes the following:

  • "R.S.O." might mean "Riddare av Svärds-Ordern" (knight of the Order of the Sword).
  • "fänrif" should be "fänrik" (ensign, junior lieutenant).
  • Piquenerare = pikeman
  • Colonel Pistolkors' battalion (not Gistolfors).
  • "Fortifikationen" = the engineering corps.
  • He was taken prisoner there (Wiborg) and transported the same year to Siberia. Returned 1722. Lietenant Colonel's rank(?) 29 Aug 1723.
