ISSUED BY DIRECTORATE OF EDUCATION AND WELFARE, E.A.C. PRINTED BY PRINTING AND STATIONERY SERVICES, EAST AFRICA COMMAND [How government tax is used. 1. Many thousands of shillings are used every year for education, buildings and teachers' salaries. The money paid by students is not nearly enough. The government also helps many mission schools with money. 2. The medicines you get free or for which you pay only a little are mainly paid for with a lot of government money. The government must also provide salaries for drivers[?] and doctors as well as hospital buildings. 3. Roads and bridges are very expensive to repair. If cement and tar are used, these must be purchased and brought from faraway countries. And the government must also pay the wages of the people who carry out this hard work of repairing roads, etc. 4. This picture shows a cow being given an injection to prevent sickness. Much money is used to prepare this medicine and it is tested first on government cattle. The government helps those who own cattle in many ways, and pays a lot of money to agriculturists. The government sells good cattle and fine seed to Africans at special prices which are lower than those that the government paid for them. These are some of the things the government does to help us Africans.] |

[edit]This image is in the public domain because it is a mere mechanical scan or photocopy of a public domain original, or – from the available evidence – is so similar to such a scan or photocopy that no copyright protection can be expected to arise. The original itself is in the public domain for the following reason:
This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag. ![]() |
