Description
English: Jeffers joined Intel in 2008. He's a principal engineer in the company's Technical Computing Group where he leads high performance computing software teams supporting supercomputer customers. He recently co-authored a book about the Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor with Intel colleague James Reinders.

For more than a decade, televised NFL and college football games have been using a virtual first down line. Football fans are so familiar with the bright yellow line that most hardly notice it, except when a there's a technical glitch. As it turns out, it's a fairly complex process and the rare errors hint at the advanced algorithms and computing power required to draw the virtual line.
