Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Jew’s Ear fungus Auricularia auricula-judae also known as Jelly Ear, The Jew’s Ear or Judas’ Ear Fungus is often found on dead Elder trees and is named after the assertion that Judas Iscariot hanged himself from an Elder. This species is resistant to frost with these specimens being quite stiff in early February. They will became softer and more gelatinous as the risk of frost-damage diminishes.
