DescriptionJerusalem Chapel - Mount of Olives (6036447748).jpg |
Said to be at/near the spot where Jesus sat and wept for Jerusalem, there is an *excellent* view of the Temple Mount both from outside and inside the chapel. In Jesus's time this would have been a beautiful view of the Second Temple, destroyed during the Roman crushing of the Jewish rebellion in 70 CE. Today, the Dome of the Rock is nicely centered, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre's two gray domes are visible just to the right farther in the distance. |
