Title
English: Castle Hausach in the Black Forest at sunset.
Dansk: Borgen Hausach i Schwarzwald ved Solens Nedgang.
Object type painting
object_type QS:P31,Q3305213
Description
At the 2001 auction, the title was displayed as Slottet Hausardt i Schwarzwald ved solens nedgang. The experts at Bruun Rasmussen then had three years to find out that there really is no such thing as the Castle Hausardt in Schwarzwald, so they used the present title in 2004. They also used the time to warm to the assumption that this was the painting shown by Møller at the 1821 Charlottenborg Exhibition, titled Indgangen til et Kloster i Kinsingerdalen i Tyskland. I Mellem-grunden sees paa Klippen Ruinerne af Slottet Hausach (The entrance to the monastry in the Kinsinger Valley in Germany. Further away on the rocks is seen the ruins of Castle Hausach.)
