English: The earliest northwestern halibut fishing boats were sailing schooners, such as the "Jennie F. Decker." The vessel was based in Ballard and belonged to Norwegian immigrant fisherman Ove Rommen.
This 1908 photo shows the "Jennie F. Decker" in Seattle. It was taken by Lewis P. Muirhead at the Chlopeck Fish Company wharf at the foot of Wall Street.
