Français : Le jardin des plantes descend du jardin botanique fondé par des médecins à Rouen en 1735. Pour le réimplanter, la ville a acquis en 1832 l'ancien parc de Trianon, et y a installé le jardin en 1836. Celui-ci est un jardin mixte avec une partie paysagère dotée d'un ensemble de serres de production, d'un kiosque et de fabriques, et une partie régulière, avec grande serre, bassin, orangerie. Ce jardin est à la fois jardin de quartier et jardin botanique où se poursuivent des activités de préservation d'un patrimoine végétal, d'expérimentation et d'enseignement. A l'extrémité du grand axe, les serres axiales précédées d'un emmarchement sont adossées à un mur de fond maçonné, elles comprennent un pavillon central aux façades verticales organisées en registres horizontaux et des serres latérales. Elles ont été édifiées entre 1839 et 1842, et restaurées en 1999. La partie centrale constitue un exemple d'architecture de fonte et verre, où la structure est constituée d'un empilement de colonnes creuses destinées à l'évacuation des eaux pluviales, et dont l'ordonnance néoclassique est soulignée par les chapiteaux ioniques et la frise, les parties latérales sont elles en fer et verre, le mur de fond étant traité en rocaille.
