English: Drug jar, tall thin jar in a mottled cobalt, tin glaze. This jar belongs to the series of decorations of mottled cobalt (in which some of these drug-jars were ordered by King Phillip II for the Royal Monastery of Escorial, near Madrid).

Notes The rise of Talavera ware was due to the shortage of silver in Spain and the King promoted the improvement of the quality of their products. Drug-jars like this were ordered by the King Phillip II for the Royal Monastery of Escorial, near Madrid.
