Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The upright squared tombstone at the right of the image is the traditional design, showing family name across the base and the phrase "senso daidai" (the ancestors generation after generation) in the vertical. But in the foreground is an example of a newer style with family name on the base, but another text above; in this case "arigato" (thanks). The fresh flowers show recent visitors, or may be part of the fall equinox when family tombs are visited.
