Description

I cropped this photo to showcase the interesting fabrics in the girls' clothing.

For example, the younger girl is wearing a jacket with a lotus-root motif and checkered pants.

The older girl's jacket is made of at least two different fabrics. The body is striped, while the sleeves appear to made of an fascinating ikat-style fabric.

From Elstner Hilton's album of photographs he took in Japan between 1914 and 1918.
