日本語: U.S. Navy: Jap airstrip under construction on Okinawa Jima, Ryukyu Retto. Field is northeast of Naha City next to Nakagusuku Wan. Good hard surfaced road to right of field, drainage ditches parallel runway flowing into bay. Sugar cane evidently was growing on field and was cleared away as construction continued. Taken during Formosa-Ryukyu Island strike by planes from USS SAN JACINTO (CVL30).
