Summary

English: James Ure's grave, Old graveyard, Kippen James Ure was an Episcopalian minister who left that faith to follow Presbyterianism and became a Covenanter. Whilst many others were killed for such open rebellion, Ure survived many difficult times, including leading troops and fighting at the Battle of Bothwell Bridge (1679). He also forfeited his estate. However, he survived for many years after the Revolution, the date of his death being uncertain, but sometime after 1746. |
