| Description |
English: James Stevenson memorial Situated just off Kilbowie Road is this memorial to James Stevenson, erected in 1910, the year after his death. Dr. Stevenson was the Medical Officer of Health for Clydebank from 1897 until 1909, and was known locally as the "deliverer of Clydebank". His popularity resulted in this memorial being erected in his honour - his funeral party was fifteen cars in length, and the streets were reputedly four deep with mourners. |
