Description
English: Plate number 35, (thirty-sixth including the frontispiece) from 'Picturesque Scenery in the Kingdom of Mysore', based on a picture by James Hunter. Engraved by Merke (confirmed).

Scene circa late 1791 – early 1792.

The gateways in the background of this picture are probably from the Ekambareshvara Temple, the largest in Kanchipuram, which was erected in 1509 by king Krishnadeva Raya of Vijayanagara.
