Description
עברית: נחל הזורם בהר הכרמל. שטח אגן הניקוז שלו ביחד עם יובלו נחל חרובים מגיע לכ-24 קילומטר רבוע. אזור הנחל הוא שמורת טבע בשטח פארק הכרמל. במוצא הנחל אל מישור החוף ממוקם אתר ארכאולוגי-פרהיסטורי בעל חשיבות עולמית, הכולל ארבע מערות: מערת תנור (טבון), מערת גמל, מערת הנחל (אל-ואד) ומערת הגדי (סח'ול). מערות אלה מייצגות התיישבות חוזרת ונשנית של האדם הקדמון, הן האדם הניאנדרטלי והן ההומו סאפיינס וקודמיהם, במשך יותר מחצי מיליון שנה.
