Español: Estatua ecuestre del Coronel Gregorio Méndez Magaña. Hijo predilecto de Jalpa de Méndez y Benemérito de Tabasco. Héroe de la lucha contra la intervención francesa en Tabasco. Fué Capitán y Comandante General del Ejército Liberal Tabasqueño que derrotó a los franceses en la Batalla de El Jahuactal el 1 de noviembre de 1863 y en la Batalla del 27 de febrero de 1864 cuando expulsó a los franceses de la capital del estado. Fue gobernador de Tabasco de 1864 a 1867 |
