A FOREIGN GRAVE RECEIVES THY LIFELESS CLAY.
NO SCULPTURED WOES, NO POMP OF MOURNING HERE,
WITH PROUD INSCRIPTIONS MARK THY MODEST BIER;
BUT HITHER OFT, BY SILENT SORROW LED,
MEMORY RETIRES THE REAL TEAR TO SHED;
OUR HEART THY DEAREST MONUMENT SHALL BE
TILL OUR LAST RELIGS REST IN PEACE WITH THEE.

TO A REVERED FATHER AND TENDERLY BELOVED
