Born: 4 November 1925, Malik Angan, Fateh Kadal, Srinagar, Kashmir. Education: BA (English) MA. Hons Urdu, Persian. Proficiency in Hindi, Arabic. J.N.Khabri was a senior Journalist/ Chief Correspondent of several leading newspapers. He was an incredible penman during his time. He worked for Vande Matram, Shamshere Hind, Nationalist and for other print media. He contributed to 'Khidmat' during 1944-52. He served 'Desh' from 1946-47. He worked tirelessly for weekly Kashmiri paper 'Chaman'. He worked for several media organizations during Quit Kashmir movement. He had links with the crest of the society. He used to be close of Kashap Bandu. He wrote 'Lari Shah' and satires for Radio Kashmir from time to time. He wrote for Kashmiri phraseology and 'Qabaili Hamla' as well. Mr. Khabri won various prizes from time to time, some of which were recieved from Justice J.L.Kilam, Begum Sheikh Abdullah for articles on social reforms etc etc. Mr. Khabri had also worked as a teacher and worked for Field Survey Organisation during sixties. He got married to Jaikishori Bagati (known as 'chuni' among nears and dears). Mr. Khabri being in prime list of millitants, during turmoil of Kashmiri Pandits, had to leave Kashmir after which he stayed in Jammu where he breathed his last in the year 1997.
