English: In the center of the ceiling, an octagonal painting depicts Doge Priuli kneeling before two allegorical figures: Justice with her sword and scales and Peace with her olive branch. The allegories of Justice and Peace were two virtues with which the Venetian Republic especially venerated.

Current location
Square atrium, first room at the top of the ceremonial golden staircase of the Doge’s Palace. Important visitors such as foreign leaders and ambassadors waited in this room before entering the more formal chambers of the palace.
Notes During the dogeship of Girolamo Priuli (reigned 1559–1567) Jacopo Tintoretto was commissioned to decorate this room. Four other canvases painted for this room by Tintoretto were later moved to the Sala dell’Anticollegio.
