Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The text below the painting would indicate that it was made at the frigate-ship Bekkeskov's departure for the East Indies in 1805. But in the background lurks the British cutter that took the Bekkeskov, when it foundered near Plymouth in 1808, so the painting must have been made at a later date. Pen and watercolour, size 44 x 61.5 cm. Source: Hanne Poulsen, Danske Skibsportrætmalere, page 42 & 46.
