Fur Pelts High In Warren. Washington, New Jersey; January 3, 1917. In the fifty years that he has been purchasing pelts for fur-bearing animals in this section, Jacob Frome, of Mansfield township, has never paid as high prices as this year. He already has shipped about $300 worth of pelts to the markets. The trappers, however, have not been as busy as the high prices would indicate they would be, but the veteran expects that the first three months of this year will see more activity in the trapping line. He is now paying $4 for a black skunk hide and $3 for a No. 2, which ls a half stripe; 6 for red foxes and $2 for the gray ones. Muskrat skins are bringing 50 cents each.
