Italiano: "Il dipinto è riproduzione fedele di una tela conservata nella quadreria del Quirinale che ritrae Caterina d'Este principessa di Carignano (1656-1722), moglie di Emanuele Filiberto principe di Carignano (LAUREATI L.-TREZZANI L., Il patrimonio artistico del Quirinale. Pittura antica. La quadreria, Roma, 1993). L'iscrizione sul dipinto in esame parrebbe dunque doversi considerare erronea. Il ritratto del Quirinale è attribuito alla bottega di J. F. Voet, artista cui furono commissionati 7 ritratti di "belle donne" da Carlo Emanuele II (pagati nel 1673) e ritratti delle Altezze Reali nel 1682, alla cui maniera si ascrive anche il ritratto in esame. Altre copie si trovano in Palazzo Reale e a Racconigi. Cfr. schede 0100048621, 0100048622, 0100048623"
