Summary
[edit]DescriptionJackal Vehicle Returning from Afghanistan MOD 45157200.jpg |
English: A Jackal armoured vehicle returns from Afghanistan disembarking from a merchant vessel at Marchwood, Hampshire.
Military Vehicles and equipment from Afghanistan arrived on merchant ship EDDYSTONE at the Sea Mounting Centre in Marchwood (Military Port), ready for the Roll On Roll Off load operation. Elements from 17 Port and Maritime Squadron helped in the unloading process. As of 31 May 2013, the UK has redeployed 625 vehicles (18.7%), major equipment and 1080 (19.7%) twenty foot equivalent units of materiel from Afghanistan. The Uk does not underestimate the scale of the effort that is required. Considerable work and personnel are in place to support it.
