Crystal structure of COSase

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: (A) The ribbon diagram of the dimer structure. One subunit is colored blue to red from the N to the C terminus, and the other one is shown in gray. The zinc ions in the catalytic site are indicated as dark gray spheres. (B) The catalytic site of COSase complex with SCN–. The residues originating from one subunit are shown in cyan and those from the other in pink. The OMIT electron density map (5σ) for the SCN– and surrounding water molecules are colored orange. The zinc ion (dark gray sphere) is coordinated by two cysteine and one histidine residues and a water molecule (red sphere). Interactions between the zinc ion and its ligands are shown as red broken lines. Blue broken lines indicate the hydrogen bonds. Nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur atoms are shown in blue, red, and yellow, respectively.
